Need For More

One day I was coming from school, and suddenly something comes in my mind. This idea was "Why do we always want more?". In my growing up; I always heard that it is selfish of us human to never get satisfy over anything. Christians busted on people who their ambitions drive them to get more and more. Philosophers accuse human of not capable of being satisfy. I, myself was convince about that idea. Although we are taught to get away from those type of people, at the same time everyone expect us to have dreams, to have something in mind that we can look forward its accomplishment.

I usually think it is good to have some alone time because it helps you discover a lot about yourself. Although it might seem to be odd for some people, talking to yourself has a lot of benefits to your mental state. My alone time is usually everyday while I am riding my bike on my way to school. During those time I think about my accomplishments, my failures, my to-do list or sometimes just random thoughts. For some rare case I would just go blank.

I did not have an answer for the world on that riding day, but after talking to myself for a half and hour and thinking about society, education and religious principles I come out with a nice conclusion. "It is essential for human to want more". "It is a MUST for humanity" I know a lot of people might find the following sentence arrogant but to me it is true. "It is a divine aspect of our life."

Now for those who might have a different opinion over that; I want you to think of you being a five year old kid with the only dream of getting a specific toy. Whether it is an Xbox or a doll. Imagine you bound with the only desire of getting that toy and then you finally have it. What's life beyond that? If satisfaction is the fulfillment of one's dream of expectation, and that want more is evil, so there is nothing to want again.

The truth is that the universe would be so dull that you wouldn't even get the chance to be born because that one kid would not have the chance to want something more like studying, getting a job, building a house, getting married and bear a child which in this would be you.

It is essential for us to get something that we look forward to; it keeps us alive and give us a reason to wake up in the morning. Let be honest, I am not talking about greedy, avaricious, rapacious, acquisitive personality. Those who's intention is to hurt others. There are people who would do ANYTHING just so that they can get more of what they want; those are not the kind of more that I am talking about today.

I am talking about the feeling of trying to do something better; to live in a better condition just because it is natural. I am talking about getting a different car because your twenty-years old van is old enough to break more often than you wish. I am talking about getting an extra million because not only the universe is willing to give to those who are ready to receive but because you will be able to build that school that you dream of, or that orphanage you always wanted.

We all agree that whatever your religious belief is, your God never lies, never forget and always good to us. We could have pray once in our life time like " Thank you God for everything you have done and will do in my life, I want you to bless me and forgive me for the wrong that i have done and the wrong that I will do." He would never forget that, he is God. Instead, some of us pray every day, some five times a day just to ask more, whether is to ask for blessing or forgiveness, we always want more. The fun part is that the more you pray, the more blessed you get, and the happier God will be with you, assuming that you follow some divine rules.

We can enjoy the fun of a bike because someone wanted something more. We can drive a car because we want more, we can fly in an airplane because someone wanted more, probably being discriminated by those who couldn't understand that dream but now profiting the spoil of it.

There is something interesting about people who think they do not want more when in fact they want more of what they already have, for example feeling love and appreciated.

Again there is absolutely nothing wrong with the MORE philosophy it is just the process of fulfilling those dreams that can lead to evil action. What good is money or materials things if one has no-one to enjoy it with? What good it is to have a 25 room house when the family is being devastated by one's absence?
